Closed-End Eye Bolts: A Closed-end eye bolt is a threaded fastener with spaced threads and a gimlet point. The top end has a closed loop and is handy for use in fastening wood. The top end is considered “closed” if there is insufficient clearance area for a like-sized screw eye to pass through.
Opened-End Eye Bolts: A open-end eye bolt is a threaded fastener with a unified thread pitch and a blunt point. On the end opposite of the blunt point the unthreaded section of the shank is turned into an incomplete circle leaving an opening of a specified distance through which a closed-end eye bolt or screw may pass.
