Conduit lock nuts are circular in shape and closely resemble washers. They have square protrusions around the edges creating slots similar to the slots on castle nuts. Conduit lock nuts are paired with unthreaded conduit knockout openings in standard junction boxes. The square protrusions or “teeth” help secure the conduit into the box and prevents vibrations that can lead to loosening of the connection.
