Hex, Regular Pattern (Standard):  A six-sided, hexagonal-shaped, internally threaded fastener with flat tops and chamfered corners. The most commonly used machine screw nut because of its versatility.

Hex, Small Pattern: Similar in design to standard hex machine screw nuts but with smaller widths across the flats and across the corners. Designed to be used with machine screws in areas where there is limited space for wrenching.

Square Nut:  A four-sided, internally threaded fastener, tops and bottoms flat, without chamfer. Threads shall be Unified coarse thread, Class 2B. Offers a greater bearing surface for wrenching.
