Round head type-U screws are manufactured to drive like a nail while securely fastening with screw-equivalent strength. Drive screws are installed into slightly smaller drilled or punched holes and are commonly used for sheet metal, plastic, and plywood applications. Our inventory consists of ASME B18.6.4 and ASME B18.6.3 specifications which are recognized as the American National Standard. Round head type-U screws are available in 300 series, 18-8 and 316 stainless steel options with plain steel selections of coated finishes consisting of black oxide or zinc plating. Dowel screws are stocked and manufactured to a case hardness to Rockwell C45 minimum (core hardness: Rockwell C28-38).
