Flange screws are manufactured with a large bearing surface under the head of the bolt to better distribute the securing pressure by over 4x the amount compared to a standard hex cap screw. Flange bolts feature serrations under the flanged head designed to grip into the surface material, providing maximum security against vibrations. The teeth on flange screws work so well, it requires a greater force to initially loosen the bolt than it was to assemble the application. Due to the strategical performance of flange screws as well as the efficiency of cutting assembly time and cost by eliminating the need of a washer when paired with flange nuts, it is common to see them used in the manufacturing of vehicle frames such as truck beds or other applications requiring a head bolt. Our inventory includes hex flange lag screws that are manufactured to ASME B18.2.1 specifications and recognized as the American National Standard. The hex flange dimensions meets IFI-111 (2002) specs and offer a tensile strength of 60,000 psi. minimum. Indented hex flange lag screws are stocked in a low carbon steel material that is finished in a hot dipped galvanized coating. Serrated hex washer screws are available with a vast selection sizes, styles, materials, grades and specs that are ready to ship in bulk quantities out of the warehouse today! Our warehouse carries fully threaded hex washer bolts with the option of fine thread and coarse thread patterns. Standard serrated hex washer screws are stocked in a 300 series, 18-8 stainless steel that provides incredible corrosion resistance. Case hardened, serrated hex washer flange screws are available offering a surface harness to Rockwell C40 minimum (Core: Rockwell C25-38). Stocked inventory of case hardened flange bolts are manufactured from carbon steel with the selection of black oxide, zinc, or a green zinc plating finish. Metric flange screws are carried in DIN 6921 specifications. DIN 6921 is a serrated hex flange screw manufactured from class 8.8 steel that is quenched, tempered, and zinc plated offering a tensile strength of 800 N/mm^2. Grade 5 flange bolts are available in steel zinc or steel zinc yellow materials and have an impressive surface hardness to Rockwell 30N54 maximum, with a tensile strength of 120,000 psi. minimum. In addition, we stock grade 8 serrated hex washer flange bolts offering a surface hardness to Rockwell 30N58.6 maximum and an incredible tensile strength of 150,000 psi. minimum.
